Does anyone know how to set up TIVO (Series 2 dual tuner) using a wired router?
I'm confused. Series 2 DT has an ethernet port if you need a USB Ethernet adapter? On the website it says TiVo Series 2 DT does not need a wired network adapter. Does mean, it's your choice to use wired vs. wireless? I read so much conflicting info that I am lost. Can someone tell me what kind of adapter I need? I have DSL and a Netgear MR814 router and want to use a wired connection. HELP!
You just spent a network cable from the Ethernet port on your DVR to a port on your wired router. The site says that you have not need a wired network adapter as the DVR already has an ethernet port. Therefore, no adapter needed. You not need an adapter if you have a wireless router and want to configure a wireless connection between your router and DVR. Then you plug a wireless adapter wire is the Ethernet port or USB port (assuming your DVR has a USB port, I think most or all of the Series 2).
